'Vampire Academy' Cast Interviews & Character Breakdown by Clevver TV

 

 Rosemarie “Rose” Hathaway – Played by the lovely Zoey Deutch, Rose is the heroine of the Vampire Academy series. She is a dhampir teenager training to be a guardian at St. Vladimir’s Academy. In case you aren’t familiar, a damphir is the child of a vampire and a human. Rose has been the lifelong best friend of Lissa Dragomir, who she has a rare one-sided psychic bond to Lissa that came as a result of Lissa saving Rose from an accident that killed Lissa’s whole family. This bond allows Rose to know the Lissa’s thoughts, emotions, and whereabouts.

Vasilisa “Lissa” Dragomir – Played by Lucy Fry, Vasilisa aka Lissa is the last of the royal family the Dragomirs (making her a princess) and is best friends with Rose Hathaway. Unlike Rose, Lissa is a Moroi, which is a vampire who was born, not made. Moroi’s can withstand sunlight, but it weakens them, therefore they must limit their exposure and start their day at sundown. Lissa is 18 and described as very beautiful & captivating. Physically, her pale skin is very characteristic of the Moroi vampires. In addition, she also has platinum blonde hair and jade green eyes.

Dimitri Belikov – Danila Kozlovsky is taking on the role of Dimitri, son of Dhampir Olena Belikova and an abusive royal, is a Russian native. He is the middle child with one older brother named Karolina Belikova and two younger siblings named Sonya and Viktoria Belikova. Dimitri has a troubled relationship with his abusive father but shares a special bond with both his mother and his grandmother. In terms of appearance, Dimitri is extremely handsome with chocolate brown eyes and a deep tan. He reaches towering 6’7” in height and sports a lean and very muscular physique.

Christian Ozera – Christian, played by Dominic Sherwood, is the son of Lucas and Moira and had a very troubled childhood. When both of his parents willingly turned Strigoi he was sent to live with his aunt, Natasha. At ten his parents returned in hopes of taking Christian back with them to their Strigoi hideout and transforming him as well but Natasha stepped in and protected him. His parents turn to Strigoi has greatly affected his social life as many people feared he would choose to turn Strigoi. Christian is an extremely handsome Moroi with jet black hair and icy blue eyes.

Mia Rinaldi – Sami Gayle will be taking on sixteen-year-old Mia Rinaldi, a Moroi who specializes in the element of water and lives at the Royal Court where her father works. She is specially trained by Guardians and becomes more mature in the process. Although the original enemy of both Rose and Lissa Mia ends up saving Rose’s life with the help of her water element. Mia sports a blonde pixy cut and strikingly deep blue eyes.
