Movie Pilot Discusses VA Poster and Movie

Ladies, gentlemen and VAddicts everywhere, the moment you've all been waiting for has arrived! Vampire Academy's first official poster has been revealed via YahooMovies, and is completely bad-ass in a 'someone spilled green paint on the actors', kind of way.

Looks like it's about that time to put your best foot forward and do your best Mean Girls impression! I've gotta say, I'm not too fond of the green, but this is only the first poster, so hopefully it can only get better from here. I'm a little confused as to the lack of school shirts, as in every other still from the movie, they clearly wear white shirts…maybe this is a 'Wednesday's we wear no shirt' thing and I'm 99% sure that the Moroi wear slightly different uniforms consisting of an almost ankle length skirt, so not sure what happened with Lissa's.

Rose and Lissa (Zoey Deutch and Lucy Fry respectively), take centre stage on the first official poster for Vampire Academy and with Rose debuting that infamous stake that got fans all riled up, you can bet your bottom dollar that the next poster will have a little more action in it!

Okay guys so for days i had this idea of introducing a little bit our cast, saying few words about then in order to get to know them better!

My First Character Post will be Danila

~Where to start about Danila?There are simply so many things to say. So I came to know about Danila on February right after they announced who will be the three leading roles in the Vampire Academy movie. I didn't know at that time who Danila was, but after the announcement I wanted to research him a little bit more. And what I found  in the months that followed, really impressed me. Most of us didnt know him, but ill do this post in order to help people who are in the VA family, and people who will enter later on, to get more familiar with our cast and their career.

It's hard enough being a teenager – just imagine being a teenage vampire.

Vampire Academy, the film based on Richelle Mead's best-selling novels, follows Rose Hathaway and her best friend Lissa Dragomir, students at St. Vladimir's Academy in Montana. But these aren't your run-of-the-mill, glittering-in-the-sun, garlic-and-silver-fearing vampires.

There's the Moroi, mortal vampires with magical abilities who drink blood from human volunteers and don't kill anyone, and the Strigoi, immortal vampires who prey on Moroi and humans and murder in their quest for blood. And it's up to a few teenagers to keep the peace between the two.

The film, which stars Ringer's Zoey Deutch (the daughter of actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch) as Rose, Lucy Fry as Lissa and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland as Natalie, doesn't hit theaters until Valentine's Day, but Mead is already speaking out about the cast.

"Zoey looks so much like the Rose in my head, it's almost eerie," Mead exclusively tells PEOPLE. "Zoey not only looks the part of Rose, she lives it. She's got that same energy and powerful presence that Rose has – not to mention a similar sense of humor! When she walks into the room, everyone knows it."

Of the 18-year-old, she continues: "On screen, she gives everything she's got ... and is one of the kindest, most hardworking young women I've met. There are a lot of pretty girls in Hollywood, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find one willing to put in the dedication and physical training that Zoey has for Rose."

While Hyland, 22, often leaves audiences in stitches as Haley Dunphy on Modern Family, Mead says viewers will see another side of her in Vampire Academy.

"I'm so glad they cast an actress as skilled as Sarah Hyland to play [Natalie]. When we first meet Natalie, she just comes off as a geeky hanger-on who's desperate to please, but readers of the book know there's a lot more to her than meets the eye. Sarah totally gets this and has been able to play up all sides of Natalie’s personality," she says. "Fans are going to especially be blown away when they see her at the film's end."

Seems that the marketing goes pretty well. After a week of VAParty, we also get a wake up call, with Rose and Dimitri. Best way to wake up every morning.
We Simply cant get enough of the new stills and footage. High expectations seems to be successfully reached.
