And Here we go!! Frostbite!!

And This is How it Began!

Various Pages Discussing The Decision of the Producers to Let the Fate of the Franchise in the Hands of the Fans!!

The producers behind the first film are this week launching an IndieGoGo campaign to raise money for “Frostbite: A Vampire Academy Film.” If fans contribute $1.5 million, the financial backers will be convinced that there’s enough fan demand for the movie and fund the rest of the production cost.
The campaign launches this Wednesday, August 6.

Producer Mike Preger said that the decision to move forward with the crowdfunding campaign was totally motivated by the fans.
The fans mean everything to us,” he said in an email to MTV News. “We decided to move forward with ‘Frostbite’ because of the fans, and we want to give them the purest book to film adaptation possible. We have a script by Piers Ashworth [screenwriter of "St. Trinian's"] that does just that. We want to give them exactly what they expect.
Producer Deepak Nayar agreed, and said that fans so wanted a sequel that they had actually suggested turning to crowdfunding.
Our financiers were willing to move forward ONLY if we could show them the fans would support us,” Nayar said. “It’s not an exaggeration to say that we would not be here without them.”
If the goal is met, pre-production will begin late this year, the film will shoot in early 2015, and the finished product will hit theaters in late 2015. “Frostbite” will follow Rose (played in “Vampire Academy” by Zoey Deutch) as she continues to protect her best friend, Moroi vampire princess Lissa (Lucy Fry). She will also have a new love interest, “royal bad boy” Adrian.
Though producers have “every intention” of bringing back the original cast (Deutch, Fry, Dominic Sherwood and Gabriel Byrne, to name a few), their return would depend on availability and is not yet confirmed.
Fans have shown their support for the “Vampire Academy” series before, voting it into the final round of this year’s MTV Movie Brawl. Not to mention the more than 32,000 fans who signed a change.org petition in support of a sequel.
Contributors can expect incentives in the form of exclusive updates from the set, St. Vladimir’s Academy apparel and walk-on roles, to name just a few. The month-long campaign will also feature contests and takeovers across the film’s social media platforms.

#VampireAcademy Fans Don’t Spend Your Money – Starting 8/6 You’ll Need to Donate It

Vampire Academy. Frostbite. We know that so many of you have a ton of questions. When’s it coming? What’s going to happen? What do I have to do?
Well starting this week you have your answers.
The producers behind Vampire Academy are launching an IndieGoGo campaign to raise money for “Frostbite: A Vampire Academy Film.”According to MTV, if fans contribute $1.5 million, the financial backers will be convinced that there’s enough fan demand for the movie to succeed and will front the rest of the cost of the film.
The producers of the film spoke with MTV. Producer Mike Preger had this to say, “We decided to move forward with ‘Frostbite’ because of the fans, and we want to give them the purest book to film adaptation possible. We have a script by Piers Ashworth [screenwriter of "St. Trinian's"] that does just that. We want to give them exactly what they expect.”
Now, here’s the thing. At least from my point of view. While raising money for this film can be done – it was never about the money. There were so many aspects of the film that were wrong – from marketing to casting – and we’re hoping that the producers take all of that into account. If Frostbite is made, I have never thought a movie set would be in more desperate of a need for a “book slapper” than this set.
Indiegogo campaigns are typically a month long and they involve incentives. I am sure that this one will have some great ones for the fans. So start saving your money Vampire Academy fans, starting August 6th, you are going to need to donate it.

Vampire Academy may not have raked in the big bucks at the theater but the producers behind the book-to-film adaptation are gearing up to make the film’s sequel, Frostbite, a reality by using popular crowd-funding website, IndieGoGo to raise money for the film.

Last June, we brought you news of a status update on the official Vampire Academy Facebook page that alluded to a plan to help make the film’s sequel, Frostbite, a reality. While the status was very ambiguous, a few guessed the production team behind the first Vampire Academy film may be setting their sights on a crowd funding campaign. Now, producers of the first film have confirmed that they will be using IndieGoGo to try and make Frostbite a reality.

Producers of the first film are setting up to launch the IndieGoGo campaign this Wednesday, August 6. Their hope is that they will be able to raise $1.5 million via fan donations for the sequel– if fans can reach the goal, producers say the financial backers behind the film will fund the rest of the production cost.
In an email sent to MTV News, Producer Mike Preger spoke about the decision to use crowd funding to try and make Frostbite a reality and also credited the fan support for trying to move forward with plans to create a Vampire Academy sequel.
Based on the popular YA book series by Richelle Mead, the film adaption of Vampire Academy was released in theaters in the U.S. on February 7, 2014.
Frostbite is the second novel in Mead’s best-selling series and continues the story of Rose Hathaway and her educational journey to becoming a Guardian.

‘Vampire Academy’ Producers Set To Launch IndieGoGo Campaign For ‘Frostbite’

Although Vampire Academy opened to less than stellar reviews and box office numbers, fans of Richelle Mead’s best-selling series have not wavered in their support of the film or been deterred from the possibility of a sequel. For months, producers teasedFrostbite news on their Facebook page and fans were rewarded last month when it was announced the majority of the sequel’s funds had been raised. However, like Veronica Mars and Wish I Were Here, the filmmakers are also relying on crowd funding to bring the project to fruition.
Vampire Academy producers will launch a monthlong IndieGoGo campaign on Wednesday, August 6th in the hopes of raising $1.5 million for the project. If the goal is met, production on Frostbite will begin in early 2015 and the film will be released later that year. Speaking with MTV, producer Deepak Nayar expressed the power Vampire Academy fans have when it comes to making the sequel a reality.
“Our financiers were willing to move forward ONLY if we could show them the fans would support us,” Nayar said. “It’s not an exaggeration to say that we would not be here without them.”
Producer Mike Preger also spoke highly of Vampire Academy fans and revealed a new screenwriter for the project.
“The fans mean everything to us,” he said in an email to MTV News. “We decided to move forward with ‘Frostbite’ because of the fans, and we want to give them the purest book to film adaptation possible. We have a script by Piers Ashworth [screenwriter of "St. Trinian's"] that does just that. We want to give them exactly what they expect.”
Though producers wish to see the original cast (Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, Danila Kozlovsky, etc.) return, MTV notes their involvement cannot be confirmed at this time. In answering fan inquiries on Facebook, it was revealed that international fans will be able to contribute to the campaign. Further details will be available on the IndieGoGo FAQ this Wednesday when the campaign goes live.
