Pack your Trapper Keeper and silver stake — we're enrolling at St. Vladimir's Academy! MTV News nabbed a special sneak peek at the London set of the upcoming "Vampire Academy" movie, and we're sharing all of our dishy secrets with you!
For the uninitiated, "Vampire Academy" — based on the best-selling book series by Richelle Mead — centers around 17-year-old heroine Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch), a dhampir (i.e. human-vampire hybrid), who is training to one day serve as bodyguard for her best friend Lissa Dragomir (Lucy Fry), a royal Moroi vampire and the last in her line. But, as is so often the case, there are forces transpiring against Rose and Lissa that will put their special bond to the test.

The screenplay was adapted by "Heathers" writer Dan Waters, who then passed the script along to director brother Mark. Though initially skeptical, he was quickly charmed.
"Originally, the thing that drew me in was just reading Richelle's books," Waters said. "Immediately, I sensed something that was a little more cinematic about 'Vampire Academy' than any other young-adult thing I had ever read, and it really had to do with this bond between Rose and Lissa."
Star Deutch was also won over by Rose and Lissa's strong relationship.
"I think that's what I appreciate about the story so much is that it's truly a story of friendship, and Rose Hathaway will do anything, literally, she'll die for her best friend."
Of course, that doesn't mean the girls don't find time for separate relationships...of the romantic variety. Enter hot teacher Dimitri (Danila Kozlovsky), who gets all hot and sweaty with Rose. You know, in training. Mostly.
"Dimitri is a rather mysterious person," Kozlovsky explained. "First of all, he's Russian, but he's been living in America for a long time. I would say he has Russian blood, Russian character, Russian temperament."
With production in full swing, Mead also hopped the pond to check on the progress of the adaptation, and she liked what she saw.
"It's amazing seeing the movie come to life," Mead said. "It's like stepping into the world I created. They go to so much work with all the details: the sets, all the clothes, everything is just thought out."

Yes, Rose has a silver stake. Don't freak out.
When the 60-second teaser trailer for "Vampire Academy" premiered here on Yahoo Movies, fans got a bit nervous. Despite its sassy voiceover and quick cuts, eagle eyes caught onto some key moments that didn't quite mesh with the first book in Richelle Mead's bestselling series about a pair of teen vampire BFFs.
We get it … and so do the film's screenwriter, Dan Waters, and his brother Mark, who's directing it. And they want to make you happy.
"I have always had an attitude from the beginning that I would listen to fans and respect the fans, but not be their bitch," Dan told Yahoo Movies. "At some point, I know a little more about turning a book into a movie. I'm not one of these people who just take a paycheck and do anything, who just take the title and go with it. I'm adapting 'Vampire Academy' because I love 'Vampire Academy.'"

''I don't know about you folks, but I’ve been dying to see Vampire Academy make the leap to the big screen for a good five years now, ever since I first imagined Rose and Dimitri under the spell of that locket. Mmmm. Oh, did I just write that in public? Ahem. Anyway, St. Vladimir’s most promising students, Zoey Deutch (Rose) and Lucy Fry (Lissa) are stopping by Very VH1 on Thursday at 3 pm ET to answer all those questions about the movie that have building up since you first fell in love with the sweet vampire princess and her fierce half-vampire bodyguard/BFF. Click on the window above and log in early to submit your questions.

What do they think of the term “Blood Sisters”? What is a conversation with the director of Mean Girls (VA director Mark Waters) and the writer of Heathers (VA screenwriter Daniel Waters) even like? Are they Richelle Mead stans too? How can they stand next to Danila Kozlovsky without bursting into flames? These are some of the questions I won’t be able to prevent myself from asking, but I know you’ve got more!''
