Character Post 2: Zoey Deutch

I continue introducing the VA Cast, so people will get to know them better. Its for the Fans and the people who will be also in the future!

The Second Character Post is Zoey Deutch

Our beloved Zoey! Again with Zoey I have so many things to say! I knew Zoey even before she got the chance to play in VA, though I came to research Zoey after she was casted for Rose! She is really one of the most brilliant and down to earth famous people I even seen in my life. Zoey is pretty interesting and wicked person, with a great sense of humor!

Some Background Information

Zoey was born November 10th, 1994, Los Angeles, California.
She made her début on the Disney Channel Original Series, The Suite Life on Deck, playing Maya. From 2011-2012, played Juliet Martin , in the CW's successful series, The Ringer.
Zoey also had a small part in the Amazing Spider Man movie, playing a gossip girl, the scene is available on the DVD Version.
Also, landing a guest star role in NCIS  television series, episode called ''One Last Score''
One of her biggest roles was the one in Beautiful Creature Movie, which she played Emily Asher ( a total bratty classy girl, and rocked the role)
And ofcourse VA: Blood Sisters, where she plays bad ass Rose Hathaway( we anticipate so much Zoey's performance)

Some Other films/series: Hallelujah( Willow, 2011), Mayor Cupcake(Lana,2011)( she played with her mother and sister), Criminal Minds( Blue Mask Girl,2011) and Switched at Birth(Eliza,2013)
''Switched at Birth''

''Beautiful Creatures''

''The Ringer''

~Zoey may not played in many movies, as she started her career, the last four years, but even in a very small role, she shows her talent and unique personality. Having seen some of her performances, I also know that Zoey is one of my favourite actresses out there. She is really is a very dedicated person, and especially for VA she put up such a hard work, its simply admirable, and we are so proud of her dedication and huge effort to our favourite film.

Look at what other people have to say about our beloved Zoey

(FangirlDailyRichelle Mead: Zoey looks so much like the Rose in my head, it’s almost eerie” . “Zoey not only looks the part of Rose, she lives it. She’s got that same energy and powerful presence that Rose has – not to mention a similar sense of humor! When she walks into the room, everyone knows it.”[..] “On screen, she gives everything she’s got … and is one of the kindest, most hardworking young women I’ve met. There are a lot of pretty girls in Hollywood, but I think you’d be hard-pressed to find one willing to put in the dedication and physical training that Zoey has for Rose.”

(PageToPremiere) ''Zoey [Deutch] has that vibrancy and energy that Rose has''

(MTV)
I think she's got the spirit and the personality of Rose[...]there's an energy about Zoey, the actress, that resonates with the character. Mark Waters was talking about when she auditioned, when she walked in, people were like, "Oh my god, that's her." She carries it. I love following her on Twitter. There's a spirit of adventure in her.[..][And] she just threw herself into [the training]. It's a very physical role. She was with a trainer full days, multiple times a week just driving her body, making sure she was in the best shape she could be to carry out Rose. I think that's what really defines the character. She looks like the part, to me, as well, but it's so much more than having a facial resemblance to the character. You've got to be able to portray them. That's what everyone was looking at when they cast her, and I think they did it beautifully.

(Huffington)Mark Waters: We saw hundreds of people for that part, and there was something about Zoey where she didn’t look physically like I had imagined the part. I imagined someone who looked more like an Olympic athlete. Zoey’s not, but she basically worked her ass off and spent months training to bulk up and get muscle and learn how to fight. But that’s not how she looks at first. There was just something about what she brought to the performance, which was this attitude and energy and this strength and confidence, as well as the facility to deal with the very intricate dialogue and make it real and make it funny. There was nobody really close to her in capturing Rose’s essence. She was able to nail it on the head.

Zoey just distanced herself from everybody in an elaborate auditioning process. I saw hundreds of actors for Rose and opened up the search to just about anyone. We saw tapes from all around the world for both Rose and Lissa. There was just something about Zoey as Rose. I felt that Zoey didn’t immediately look the part to me because she is not a big, athletic girl but she has great body sense and was committed to working on her physicality. She ended up spending months and months of physical training and also doing fight training so she very believably inhabits Rose’s guardian body and does some great ass kicking in the movie but that wasn’t the thing she booked it off of. She just has that essence of that attitude that Rose has. I think I said at the very beginning of this conversation that Rose is not an innocent. She is somebody who is aggressive, has a lot of subserviseness to her attitude and sense of humor. That is something that for Zoey just naturally came to her and I think she was able to kind of do my brother’s rather intricate dialoge in a way that was very naturalistic and not like she was at all being forced to do something contrived or stylized and she as able to make it work

~Zoey has put so much effort and work to Vampire Academy, she was meant to be Rose.
''I trained about 3-4 months before we started shooting, in the gym mostly; fight training as well, which is a lot of boxing and some martial arts. Then, I went to London and we had only two weeks of stunt choreography, which I wish we had more time because, in a lot of ways, that was the most important part of the process. I learned so much. I felt very lucky to have had a dance background because that kind of muscle memory kicks back into gear. It was so much fun for me.''

~We can clearly see the result of all this hard work! Zoey is a brand new star, she has so much potential, and the most important thing, she is passionate. Loves what she does like her own life. And we are also so proud of Zoey, for everything she went through to play this role, and for simply being Zoey.

Representing VAmovie in events was also one of the moments we were extremely proud
MTV Awards 2013
MTV Interview with Josh Horowitz
New York Comic Con
MTV Awards After Party

~Zoey also has a great sense of humor, which I particularly admire! She has this energy, she is so liveable and funny! Zoey really shares a lot of traits with Rose! As we can clearly see!

~What we saw until now from the stills,is Zoey really has surprised us all. She did such an amazing job and she portraits the character so well! No one can deny it. We are again proud of Zoey, cause there were a lot of doubts about her playing Rose, but she didn't just did it, she nailed it! Yeah totally a bad ass.

~I will have to conclude for now, cause I don't want to tire you. I will only say that Zoey is perfect for the role. She is talented, dedicated, funny, and a great person. She is also very close to us, the fans, she always retweets or favours things we say about her. We will keep supporting, and hope that more people in the future will come to know Zoey and appreciate her too.
